EU – SEC at Informatics in Public Administration Conference 2018
About the event
The Slovenian Ministry of Public Administration (SI-MPA) represented the EU – SEC project at the annual Informatics in Public Administration Conference, held at the Congress Centre Brdo pri Kranju on 10 and 11 December 2018. This year's emphasis was on strategic and developmental issues: Slovenia - a green reference country in digital Europe. Conference topics included the role of state informatics in stimulating the Slovenian economy, and the ambition that the state administration should not simply follow, but should also be the creator of innovative ideas in the IT field.
The conference was intended for IT experts in public administration, decision-makers, their co-workers, e-services providers, universities, and companies. The content was directed towards new digital solutions, information security, user-oriented public administration services, artificial intelligence, smart cities, big data etc.
Participants
The Informatics in Public Administration Conference is comparable in terms of audience with the largest meetings of IT experts in the country, with more than 900 participants over two days. It also attracts foreign lecturers and speakers.
This year, presentations were also given by Zoran Stančič, Head of the Representation of the European Commission in the Republic of Slovenia, Jani Kraner, Government Digital Service (GDS), Great Britain, Gábor Szentiványi, ULX Open Source Consulting & Distribution, Lars Biermann, Deloitte Germany and many other Slovenian lecturers from different organizations, ministries etc.
EU-SEC Involvement
The focus of the EU – SEC project presentation was the explanation of the project objectives, presenting consortium partners and their roles in the project, challenges of cloud services and solutions in the land of certifications, and how the Slovenian State Cloud and EU-SEC project could be linked. Emphasis was given to the Multiparty Recognition Framework, where SI-MPA leads the pilot audit task, together with findings and important challenges of the project. The presentation was given by Anton Ujcic and Bojan Pohar.
